For Brno City Museum we delivered and installed a museum exhibition Casemates in the northern casemates of Špilberk Castle – a national cultural monument and one of Brno’s most significant historical landmarks.
The project focused on sensitively complementing the historic space with new exhibition elements that enhanced the visitor experience, spatial orientation and presentation of the stories associated with the casemates. The solution combined exhibition elements, graphics, lighting, audiovisual elements and bespoke structures into one functional unit.
The project included information panels, large-format graphics, aluminium strips with frames, LED backlighting, display cases, textile and interior elements, as well as elements inspired by the historic environment of an air-raid shelter. Particular emphasis was placed on respecting the authentic character of the casemates and minimising interventions in the historic structures.
The result was a museum exhibition that sensitively connected the historic space of Špilberk Castle with a modern exhibition solution. The project emphasised the atmosphere of the site, high-quality craftsmanship, clear content presentation and a functional technical solution for the entire exhibition.
